Tether Dominates Stablecoin Market with USDT Strength+ European Expansion through StablR
Marco Dal Lago, VP of Global Expansion & Strategic Partnerships at Tether, just highlighted USDT’s dominance in a LinkedIn post. Comparing 24-hour trading volume against market cap, USDT outshines its competitors with a a dazzling 127% ratio, while USDC lags behind at 30%. In Dal Lago's words: “Facts > Words,” a not very subtle message underlining Tether's market leadership. Love it!
This post comes at a a very interesting moment, aligning with Tether’s strategic investment in StablR, a European stablecoin provider. As also posted today, it is more apparent than ever that Tether is deepening its commitment to Europe’s regulated stablecoin market as MiCA regulations approach full enforcement on December 30th. Stablecoins as (euro)proxies seem to be their go-to strategy!
StablR: Bridging Compliance and Liquidity in Europe
With the European stablecoin market gaining momentum, StablR’s EURR and USDR stablecoins are designed to meet rising institutional demand for compliant and cost-efficient digital assets. StablR will leverage Tether’s recently launched Hadron platform, which is a tokenization solution that provides integrated KYC, AML, and risk management features.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino emphasized the broader vision in a release by Tether itself:
“Tether is proud to support initiatives like StablR that align with our vision for fostering compliance, innovation, and accessibility in the European stablecoin market.”
The Stablecoin Wars Continue
USDT’s impressive market performance, combined with strategic partnerships like StablR, underscores Tether’s multifaceted approach: strengthening global dominance while securing footholds in regulated markets. This European move positions Tether to benefit from MiCA-driven adoption, reinforcing its market-leading position even further. No matter how many partnerships Circle does with Tier-1 exchanges.
Dal Lago’s numbers serve as a real reminder for Jeremy and his goons: USDT remains the benchmark, and until then, Circle will forever be sloppy seconds.
